The German-Asian Business Circle, or DAW (Deutsch-Asiatische Wirtschaftskreis e.V.), is an independent network of more than 1,800 companies, organisations and institutions offering numerous Asia-related services. Besides contacts in diplomacy and the economy, the association organises informational events on current developments in Asia and conducts seminars on key issues. It organises business trips to regions offering potential for the German economy and arranges directs contacts in those regions. The German Association of Medium-Sized Businesses, or BVMW (Bundesverband Mittelständische Wirtschaft), represents medium-sized businesses. Committed to entrepreneurship, it is politically independent and privately financed. At the same time it sees itself as a service company for its members, informing them of important issues of business management through an extensive network of regional staff. Chinaforum Bayern e.V. is a non-profit association for promoting Bavarian-Chinese cooperation. At the same time the organisation is a pool of cultural, economic and consultancy experts as well as scientific institutions in Bavaria and throughout Germany. Members include leading representatives of large and medium-sized companies. The Chinaforum regularly organises events providing information on issues relating to China and forms an information platform for everyone relying on regular information about the “Middle Kingdom”.
