Main duties

General Manager / Plant Manager

One of our valuable clients, a globally operating manufacturer of speciality chemicals is looking for a Plant Manager and VP Operations at its manufacturing site for Asia located in Thailand.

The parent company was established in Europe in 1948 and has grown since to become a globally active provider of auxiliary chemicals for the polymer manufacturing and polymer processing industries. Market shares are high for Europe and some other Regions, and relatively low and with room for growth in Asia.

The products are primarily used as auxiliary process aids which improve the efficiency of customer processes and provide quality improvements to customer products. Ongoing R&D efforts ensure practical solutions by scientific approach. Ongoing customer dialogue is the base for tailor-made problem solutions and improved technologies for the application of the chemical products. From the customers‘ point of view the products provide productivity improvements, cost effectiveness and technological innovation.

The manufacturing sites are modern premises, tailor-designed to the flow of materials under highly automated processes and documented quality control. The plant in Thailand took up production in 2003. All operations are designed and undertaken in compliance with ISO 9000 and EN 14001 quality and environmental standards. The steadiness and predictability of the output numbers for production allow for very efficient material flow and relatively low stock levels. Intended operating times are achieved by two shifts/day on five days of the week. All rules and regulations applicable for chemical operations at the location in question are being considered and reviewed in a dialogue with the relevant authorities.

Due to the dependability of the company of its globally operating customers, as in the automotive industry, the local plant management must consider and ensure the forms and standards of customer dialogue and contracting as established and proven in other marketing regions. The relevant detail and compliance for all transactions must be confirmed permanently in co-operation with other officers within the Group.

The company is interested in a stable and lasting management team. The members will be selected in consideration of their qualifications and compliance with the Group’s standards. A gradual introduction to the Group’s standards and practices is intended, including limited training and stays in affiliated operations overseas. The remuneration must be satisfactory and a bonus system shall ensure participation in the results of the individual performance and contributions.

The ideal candidate is between 45 and 50 years of age and is looking for his last position before retirement. He should be a reputable person with kind of seniority, rather considerate and controlled in his leadership. His experience and balanced personality should be the base for a respectful and trusting relationship with both the local employees and the stakeholders of the company.

Applicants with Thai nationality or long-year working experience in Thailand are preferred.
